Updated 6th ed FAQ/Errata's are coming soon

Son of Dorn has asked  bunch of us for help compiling questions for these updates to forward to GW.

We have been hearing, that Games Workshop is going to be coming out with more in-depth FAQ/Errata in the next month or so for 6th edition. What we want to do is to start gathering questions that seem to fall into the category of needing a answers.

So that is what this post is. Any serious questions that you feel need to be answered can be posted in the comments, then we will collate them and we will get them into someone that matters at Games Workshop.

The purpose of this is not to bitch, moan or complain, but to really help our game with the hope that we will somehow, just maybe get these viewed by someone that matters.

So if you are interested, lets get them going. If you think a question can be easily answered that someone has asked, please do not answer questions even if they seem like no brainers. It will help the community as a whole if we can get these questions answered.

Remember the only stupid question is one that is never asked.

  1. can it be any 40k question or just relating to the new rulebook?

    Cause i want to know...

1- Hull points of the Dais of Destruction (vect's personal transport for D.Eldar)

2- Glaive Encarmine (B.Angels)- what is the AP?

  2. Why can troops using the Deathwing/Drop Pod ASSAULT special rule, not assault on the turn they deepstrike, considering the word Assault is in the name.

Assault marines and Assault Terminators become fairly useless choices for deep striking when theyre main form of attack is not allowed under Deep Striking rules.

It is often cited that the reason this is disallowed is because they have to get their bearings, but surely if you don't scatter or use something like teleport homers/beacons, you wouldn't need to get your bearings as you have landed/teleported/whatever exactly where you intended.

    1. For balance reasons, and because losing before you have a turn is rarely fun.

    2. IG Lemun Russ- Lumbering behemuth. Can it "Fire the turret weapon (Even if it's ordinance!)" if the vehical can only fire snap shots (shaken/stunned) as long as the other requirements are met? (that is, move 6" or less)

IG Valkrie/vendetta- grav Shute insertion. Since "Moving Flat out" can only be done in the shooting step now, the mechanics of this ability have changed significantly. Previous intent was similar to the 6th ed bombing run rules, but now it is deep striking in the shooting step. :/

Tau Markerlight. Markerlights need to snap shot to hit a flier (barring skyfire). But once a markerlight token is placed on the flier, does the markerlight missile ALSO need a 6 to hit, or does the codex "Always hits on a 2+" override the BRB.
Also, can markerlights improve the BS of Snap Shots vs fliers?

  3. Any 40k questions, clarifications, scenario specifics, ANYTHING! It's all fair game. :)

  4. 1) If a Space Wolves Lone Wolf is the first kill of the game, does he still concede a Victory Point?

    2) Can you place models on top of battlements if the base does not fit? For example Imperial Guard Heavy Weapons teams and the Daemon Prince do not fit on top of the Fortress of Redemption?

    3) Can you deploy a tank on top of the Skyshield Platform, even though it couldn't physically drive up there?

    4) Must a flyer move on exactly 18" in a straight line from the board edge, or can they come on at an angle by pivoting up to 90 degrees before moving?

5)When shooting at the weapons on the Fortress of Redemption, do they automatically benefit from the 3+ cover save of the battlements or do we use line of sight to determine if they get a cover save or not? Bear in mind that the Krak Barrage Launcher cannot actually be seen by models on the ground.

    1. 1) Of course, he just doesn't give away 2 in the mission that's basically Kill Points.

      4) It would come on with any orientation you desire, like any other reserve.

    2. 1) this still needs clarifying by a more official source. Common sense isn't enough.

    3. If people have to ask about any of these, then they're not clear enough. I'll make sure it gets in :)

  5. 1) Which mode may Flyers and Flying Monstrous Creatures arrive via Deep Strike?

    2) What? Flying Monstrous Creatures don't really have Skyfire option?

  8. 1) Do "+1 to hit" give precision shot on rolls of 5?

    2) Can any redeployment effect (C`Tan Grand Illusion, Strategic Trait 6 - Princeps of Deceit, Enter reserve->Reenter through DS, other shenanigans) give Deathmarks a second mark?

Also want to mention that I am a huge fan of KZ eagerly camping the blog in wait for the new KZ ruleset/errata, and I am sure that other lurkers are as well. But longer wait->higher quality makes the wait so much worth it.

    Also some Q for Jim;

    3) Do you have an idea about when the new KZ ruleset/errata will be ready to be published?

    4) Also, do Immortals + Targeter in KZ give extra shots/glancing on rolls of 5?

    5) Right now I am considering heavy destroyers to be outside the KZ errata, is this correct or is it considered to be a weapons upgrade for destroyers?

    6) I am about to buy a Lord, will the Necron Lord be mandatory/allowed in the next errata? Any other units that are in/out that should be considered before I go shopping?

    Cheers!
